 Ingredients:

For the Wings:

1 kg (2.2 lbs) chicken wings (split into drumettes & flats)

2 tbsp cornstarch (for extra crispiness)

1 tsp baking powder (helps the skin crisp up)

1 tsp sea salt

1 tsp black pepper

1 tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust for spice level)

1 tbsp vegetable oil (for baking)

For the Spicy Honey Mustard Glaze:

3 tbsp El Fuego Honey Mustard

3 tbsp honey (or maple syrup for extra depth)

1 tbsp soy sauce (adds umami & balance)

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (brightens the flavors)

1 tsp hot sauce (optional, for extra heat)

1 tsp cornstarch + 2 tbsp water (for thickening)

1 tbsp butter (adds richness & shine)

For Garnish:

Chopped fresh chives or green onions

Sesame seeds

Instructions:

1️⃣ Prepare the Wings

  1. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels (this helps them crisp up).
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, baking powder, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and cayenne.
  3. Toss the wings in the seasoning mix to coat evenly.
  4. Drizzle with 1 tbsp vegetable oil and toss again.

2️⃣ Cook the Wings

🟢 Oven Method:

  • Preheat oven to 220°C (425°F).
  • Place wings on a wire rack over a baking sheet (this helps air circulate).
  • Bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway, until crispy.

🟢 Air Fryer Method:

  • Preheat to 200°C (400°F).
  • Arrange wings in a single layer.
  • Air fry for 18-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway.

3️⃣ Make the Glaze

  1. In a small saucepan, whisk together El Fuego Honey Mustard, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, and hot sauce.
  2. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  3. Mix cornstarch with 2 tbsp water to create a slurry, then stir it into the glaze.
  4. Let the sauce thicken for 1-2 minutes, then stir in butter for a glossy finish.

4️⃣ Toss & Serve

  1. Once the wings are crispy, transfer them to a large bowl.
  2. Pour the hot glaze over the wings and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Garnish with chopped chives/green onions and sesame seeds.
